Bjarne Thorup, Chairman
Bjarne Thorup is a managing director at Saxo Asset Management in Copenhagen with a special expertise and focus on institutional investors. Since starting his career back in 1987, Bjarne has held a number of senior positions with different Danish investment banks and asset managers, including CIO and board member at both Bankinvest and Nykredit Portfolio. Bjarne Thorup holds a cand. merc. FIR (Master of Finance) from Aarhus school of business (1986) and an executive MBA from Copenhagen Business school (2001).
Stefan Allesh-Taylor, Board Member
Mr. Allesch-Taylor is the Chairman of the Fairfax Group PLC and the Chief Executive of Fairfax I.S. PLC, a UK based investment bank. He also serves as Chairman of The Tactica Fund PCC PLC, an asset management company and is chairman of Tactica Partners PLC. He is currently a non-executive director of Accsys Technologies PLC, an environmental science and technology company listed in the UK. He served as a founder-director of Semley Group, a UK property company, between 1993 and 1996 which was sold to Moorfield Estates PLC in 1996. Between 1997 and 2003 he served as Executive Chairman of STG Holdings PLC and oversaw the firm’s transition from a small property company into a generic investment business. During his tenure he oversaw the creation of a number of new businesses now listed in the UK and the United States. In 2003 he co-founded the Develica I LLP property fund. Over the last 13 years Mr. Allesch-Taylor has held senior management positions in the property, technology, industrial and financial services sectors and has served on the boards of a wide variety of companies. He remains an advisor to a number of substantial international trusts.
Hans Christian Ohrt, Board Member
Hans-Christian Ohrt was born in 1966 and obtained a law degree from the University of Aarhus in 1991. Hans-Christian Ohrt is a partner in Lett Law Firm and primarily works with mergers and acquisitions (M&A), stock exchange regulation law, banking and finance law, commercial and company law. Hans-Christian Ohrt represents Danish and foreign industrial and financial companies and private equity investors in connection with acquisition and sale of businesses, stock emissions, regulation of listed companies and matters relating to corporate and shareholders issues. Hans-Christian Ohrt’s work also includes drafting and negotiation of loan facility agreements as well as regulatory issues. Hans-Christian Ohrt also advices on general commercial and company law, including drafting and negotiation of commercial agreements.
During the period 1991 – 1996 Hans-Christian Ohrt was employed with the law firm Bech Bruun in Copenhagen and in the year 1996 – 1997 he was seconded to the London city law firm CMS Cameron McKenna. Prior to becoming a partner in Lett Law Firm he was a general counsel of Bang & Olufsen A/S from 1997 – 1999.
Robert Spliid, Board Member
Since graduating as a Master of Art, econ at University of Copenhagen, Robert has since 1982 held a number of senior positions within the financial sector in Denmark, Germany, Luxembourg and Switzerland at varoius banks and currently holds numerous directorships, including vice-chairman of the board at Atrium Value Partners and boadmember of DIFKO. Robert is also writing as a columnist on financial markets for the Danish financial newspaper "Børsen" and has published a book on private equity in Denmark in November 2007. Born in Denmark Robert today lives in Switzerland.
